Discovery

We start by pulling together all the important information on your business, expertise, and target reader. We'll explore your past work, strong opinions you have, other writers or creators that inspire you, and goals you have in the business. Through this process, I'll help uncover where you have unique opportunities to stand out, and we'll lay the groundwork for your newsletter design and editorial strategy.

Design

Using a combination of our discovery work, audience research, and any existing brand assets you have, we'll create a visual direction for the newsletter – something unique to you, that sets you apart in the minds of readers and helps them recognize your work instantly.

Technical Setup

I'll help you pick the right platform for your company/goals, then I'll handle the technical setup so you don't need to worry about it. This includes a landing page, welcome email and newsletter template, importing and warming up your list, and handling important authentication records, like your SPF, DKIM, and DMARC to make sure you pass spam filters.

First Two Emails

Your first two newsletters, fully written and fine-tuned to sound exactly the way you want. Not only will these help get the newsletter started, but the style/structure decisions we make will help guide future content decisions so you know exactly what should be in the email, and why.

Editorial Strategy

This is a crucial asset. We'll use all of our conversations and design decisions to build out a four-part deck that includes:

✓ Style Tile: Key design info, like brand colors, logos, and imagery

✓ Audience Research: Your main reader avatars, the problems they face, and how to reach them

✓ Editorial Guide: Specific information on how YOU write about YOUR topic. Use this to train future employees, or upload it to your favorite AI tool to help it mimic your voice better.

✓ Three Page Growth Plan: A simple, straightforward plan for growing the audience once the newsletter gets started. Complete with sample social media posts and a posting schedule you can build on as you grow.

6.

Your AI Editor

Finally, the project is delivered along with a custom Claude Skill, trained on our conversations, your editorial decisions, and the sample emails. This skill will make it easy to generate first drafts of future emails and social media posts, removing the barriers that stop most people from publishing consistently.
